Kongde Lodge sits on the slopes of Kongde Ri in the Khumbu region of Koshi Province, several thousand feet above and hours from the nearest bazaar. It's the last lodge on the Yeti Trail, a route historically used by Khumbu Sherpas, and it sees far fewer travelers than the well-worn path between Lukla and Everest Base Camp.

The lodge has ten rooms, each with panoramic mountain views, extra blankets, an electrically heated mattress, and an attached bathroom with a hot shower. From the grounds or from inside, the north-facing outlook takes in the Khumbu valley with Everest on the horizon, along with Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, Gyachung Kang, and Ama Dablam. Early risers can check the view between 5:30 and 6am, when weather is typically clearest, and watch sunrise hit Thamserku peak directly in front of the lodge. Clear skies also make the lodge a good spot for night photography of the Himalayas.

The setting is remote and quiet by design, suited to solo travelers or couples who want distance from the busier Everest corridor. Some visitors arrive on helicopter tours and stop for a meal; others stay longer to catch both sunrise and sunset over the peaks.

Booking is handled directly through Mountain Lodges of Nepal. The company lists separate contacts for travel agents and for direct bookings, reachable by phone, WhatsApp, Viber, or email, and the lodge's phone number is listed on its directory page.
