IGLUCAMPING Allgäu-Bodensee is a cluster of ten igloo-shaped tiny houses (28 beds total) set directly on the Röhrenmoos swimming lake, inside the larger Campingplatz Röhrenmoos near Wangen im Allgäu in Bavaria. The town's old town and the Allgäu-Bodensee region make it a reasonable base for cycling, hiking or day trips toward the Alps, in any season — the site stays open year-round.
Each hut has a heated interior and a full kitchenette: ceramic hob, fridge with freezer compartment, pots, pans, cutlery, a Nespresso machine and a kettle. Bed linen, towels, sauna towels and a hairdryer come with every stay, washed CO2-neutral. A wood-fired sauna by the lake is included in the price for all guests, a welcome stop after a swim or a day on the bike.
Dogs are welcome throughout the property, with plenty of walking ground north of Wangen, and can be added at booking for a nightly fee; leashes are asked for during busy summer weekends. Wi-Fi covers up to five devices per hut at no extra cost. Entry to each house is contactless, using a smartphone held to the door lock instead of a key.
Bookings run direct through the IGLUCAMPING website, with a two-night minimum at most times of year. High-season weekends (mid-July to mid-September) have tighter rules — short stays need at least a week's advance notice, and longer high-season bookings are generally Saturday to Saturday. Outside peak months, two-night stays are bookable as normal. The campsite's shared shower and toilet building is open all year, with heated showers in winter.
