Hillehof Ostrau Hartmann & Ebert GbR

Hillehof sits on the sunny Ostrau plateau above Bad Schandau, in the heart of Saxon Switzerland, with sightlines to the Schrammsteine and the Falkenstein. The building is listed as a historic monument and holds three separate units that can be booked on their own or combined for larger groups, with room for up to 22 people in total.

The main part of the house, Landhaus Hillehof, sleeps up to 12 and includes a shared common room, a veranda kitchen, and a 50-square-metre main terrace. In the side wing, the Seilschaft and Schwalbennest apartments have been renovated with new bathrooms and underfloor heating in most rooms. All units come with Wi-Fi, full kitchens with modern appliances, and private outdoor space. A large garden with an old stand of trees and open meadow is set up for games, barbecues, and sitting outside.

This is a base for hiking, climbing, cycling, and paddling trips through Saxon Switzerland, with trails starting right from the property. A restaurant is about 50 metres away, and the historic passenger elevator that drops into Bad Schandau's town amenities is a short walk. The Czech town of Hřensko is a 10-minute drive. Parking on site is free, and there's a fee-based charging station for electric vehicles.

Dogs are welcome with advance notice, and the Schwalbennest apartment has a dog nook built under the bed. Check-in starts at 16:00 and check-out is by 11:00, with other times possible by arrangement. Bookings go through Smoobu.
