Green Footprint – Off Grid Cabin & Glamping Härjedalen Jämtland Sweden

Green Footprint sits on the water's edge in Härjedalen, Jämtland, near Storsjö Kapell, in one of Sweden's more remote mountain regions. The setup centers on an Apex tent by CanvasCamp, fitted with a full-size double bed, a wood stove and a panoramic wall facing the lake. A second tent serves as an outdoor kitchen and dining area, also with lake views. The property sleeps two and runs fully off-grid, with no wifi and no mains power or plumbing in the usual sense.

Daily life here follows the rhythm of the place rather than a schedule: gathering firewood, collecting water, mowing grass, or simply sitting by the lake. The surrounding wilderness offers hiking, trail running, canoeing and fishing, along with access to the Flatruet mountain road, Mount Helags and the historic area around Messlingen. Waterfalls and canyons are within reach for day trips.

An outdoor hot tub overlooking the lake and mountains is available as an add-on, bookable separately and only when the tent is unoccupied by other guests. The hosts, Lykke and Orest, run the place as a small guest operation aimed at supporting the local community while keeping the area's wilderness character intact.
