UnderDome Glamping

UnderDome Glamping sets a single geodesic dome, The Dome, inside the Bio Resort Parco dei Cimini, on the slopes of the Monti Cimini just over the line from Tuscany in upper Lazio. The dome sleeps two in a king-size bed and comes with its own outdoor relax area, including a hot tub heated to 40 degrees. Inside, a full en-suite bathroom, air conditioning, heating, Wi-Fi, and a small bar corner with coffee machine and kettle round out the 38-square-meter space. Views open onto the Monti Cimini themselves, and the setting is quiet enough for stargazing at the park's astronomical observatory after dark.

Days here can run as active or as still as a couple wants. Trekkers can climb the steep trail up Monte Palanzana for views stretching to the Tyrrhenian Sea, while a gentler nordic walking route winds through the Faggeta Vetusta, an old-growth beech forest on Monte Cimino recognized as a UNESCO site. The resort grounds also hold a bio-lake, a seasonal bio-pool, and options for horseback riding or a visit to the nearby Lago di Vico nature reserve. Massages and wellness treatments are available on site during the day.

Check-in runs from 3:00 PM and check-out is by 11:00 AM; rooms are cleaned and sanitized between stays, and the tourist tax is already folded into the rate. Add-ons can be booked ahead through the checkout page, including a birthday cake, a romantic setup with prosecco and petals, an aperitivo tasting with a chef, or a dinner reservation at the adjoining Ristorante del Parco dei Cimini, open for dinner Friday and Saturday and lunch on Sunday. The dome starts at €250 a night, and bookings run through the Underdome Glamping site.
