Honeycomb Hill sits on a 40-acre hilltop property overlooking Emigrant Lake, about 9 miles and a 20-minute drive from downtown Ashland, Oregon. The dome has views of Mount Ashland and Pilot Rock, and the property backs up to the lake for kayaking, paddle boarding, and fishing.
Inside, the dome has a queen-sized bed, an indoor gas heater, a chaise, and a small cafe table with two chairs. Two twin floor mattresses can be added if needed, though the dome is set up for two. A solar panel handles lighting, ventilation, and device charging, including an electric kettle. There's no Wi-Fi here by design. A picnic table sits at the site, along with a firepit and firewood, subject to seasonal fire restrictions.
Bathroom facilities are a short walk from the dome: a two-stall composting outhouse and sink. The property also has a hot tub, a cedar sauna, and an indoor shower, with towels and robes provided. Pets aren't allowed.
From the property, downtown Ashland is reachable in 20 minutes for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Lithia Park, hiking and mountain bike trails, restaurants, and galleries. Several wineries are within a 10-minute drive, and Crater Lake National Park is about 60 miles out, workable as a day trip. Rates start at $150 a night, with a one-night minimum stay. Check-in is after 4:00 PM and check-out before noon. Book through Hipcamp.
