Gran Isla Izu Kogen sits above the Pacific in Yoshida, part of Ito city on the Izu Peninsula, about 2.5 hours from Tokyo, 40 minutes from Atami Station, or 20 minutes by taxi from Ito Station. The property has six dome-tent units, each over 100 square meters and spaced apart for privacy, with an 8-meter-diameter dome and room for a theater setup inside.
Every room is plumbed with the resort's own hot spring, drawn at 48.3°C and delivered without dilution, reheating, or recirculation — a calcium-sodium sulfate-chloride spring rated for cuts, poor circulation, and dry skin. Guests can book a private barrel sauna overlooking the water, then cool down in a large hot-spring jacuzzi. In summer, a seasonal hot-spring pool with ocean views is open to all guests at no extra charge.
Meals center on glamping-style barbecue using Izu seafood and produce, with the option to bring your own ingredients for a custom cookout. A free bar in the management building serves beer and soft drinks from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. (not available to guests staying in the Smore no Mori units). Other on-site activities include a foot bath on an ocean-view terrace, table tennis, feeding goats and rabbits, and making craft cola — enough to fill a day without leaving the grounds.
Booking and detailed room specs are handled through the official website, where a room page lists facilities and amenities for each dome tent in full.
