Stargrass Tent

Stargrass Tent sits on a 230-acre property near Kirkfield, Ontario, about 1.5 hours from Toronto. The land holds a crystal-clear, spring-fed lake formed from a former limestone quarry, along with five lakeside cabins and six campsites. Stargrass is set apart from those cabins, out on the quarry near the water, on a wide, private lot with fewer trees but closer proximity to the lake than the more forested sites.

This is an off-grid stay built for two, with a queen bed and no Wi-Fi. Power and heat come from solar, with a backup generator available when needed; guests are asked to be mindful of energy use. A campfire and drinking water are included. All guests share lake access across the property, with paddle board and canoe rentals on site for exploring the water.

Beyond the lake, the surrounding land supports hiking, road cycling, gravel biking, trail running, swimming, and in winter, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. The terrain includes steep cliff faces and rugged ground near the quarry, so families with young children should take extra care.

Access is drive-in and available year-round, with low remoteness rated for the site. Check-in is at 4 pm and check-out at 12 pm. Pets are not permitted. Summer rates run $169 on weeknights, $189 on weekends, and $209 on holidays, with booking handled directly through Cabinscape.
