Jotunheimen Husky Lodge sits on a working dog yard in Randsverk, inside the Jotunheimen mountains of Innlandet. The lodge itself is four self-catering apartments, each with its own living room, kitchen and bathroom, built to a high standard and sleeping 22 guests in total. In the summer half of the year, a timber cabin on the same yard is also rented out, so groups and families have options depending on the season.

Life here runs on the rhythm of roughly fifty sled dogs. Daily puppy visits happen in and around the kennel, with set times for overnight guests and for day visitors passing through. There is a fire pit shelter and a barbecue cabin on the property, and trails lead out from the door for hiking, including guided weekend trips up Rindhovda and Trollhøe with a small pack of dogs along for company. From autumn through the snow-free months, visitors can harness a team and take a wheeled cart out for a few kilometers; in winter, that same stretch of mountain is worked by sled, with trips running from half-day outings to week-long expeditions.

Beyond the dogs, the location works as a base for the wider area: a bird-watching tower, rafting, a grocery store and places to eat are all close by, and it is about half an hour to Lake Gjende and the Besseggen ridge. Trout fishing and snowshoeing round out the quieter options. Booking for accommodation and for dog activities runs through the lodge's online system, and the hosts, a family with sled-dog experience from Alaska, Svalbard, Alta and Dovrefjell, are typically on hand for the tours themselves.
