Fuyo no Yado sits in Matsuyama, within Fujiyoshida in the Fuji Five Lakes area of Yamanashi. The property is made up of fifteen separate log cabins, each built from domestic cedar and arranged as a standalone, private unit rather than rooms in a shared building. Inside, expect a full kitchen, a fireplace, mountain views, and a fire pit outside for evening use.
Each cabin comes with its own hinoki wood barrel bath, and guests also have access to a larger communal bath and open-air bath at an adjacent facility. A terrace is set up for barbecue and glampling-style outdoor dining through the seasons. Pet owners can book one of the designated pet units, which come stocked with a pet crate, food bowl, pet sheets, wet wipes, and deodorizing spray; reservations for pets are required in advance.
Room types are sized for five or seven guests, with the base rate covering up to four people and an added charge for each extra guest. Children four and older are counted and charged as adults, while those three and under stay free. Check-in starts at 15:30 and check-out is at 10:00. Breakfast is served at an on-site restaurant called Hanano-mai; no dinner service is offered, so cooking in the kitchen or heading into town is the plan for evening meals.
Free parking is available for fifteen cars with no reservation needed, and the cabin is about five minutes by taxi from Fujisan Station, or a 30-minute walk. Booking runs directly through the property's own site.
