Casita by The Joshua Tree House

Built in 1958, the Casita sits on rural desert land about 20 minutes from Joshua Tree National Park's west entrance and roughly 15 minutes from downtown Joshua Tree. Two bedrooms and one bathroom sleep up to four, making it workable for two couples, a small family, or a group of friends.

The property is set up for a slow pace: a full kitchen with a coffee machine and BBQ grill, a private garden, and an outdoor hot tub facing open desert views. Guests can walk straight from the yard onto adjoining government land for hiking, and the site is known for clear night skies and quiet surroundings. Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and a wood tile stove are on hand for either season.

Booking runs directly through the property's own reservation site. Check-in is at 4:00 PM and check-out at noon. The full balance is due at the time of booking, and a $300 security deposit is pre-authorized before arrival and released about a week after departure. Cancellations made seven or more days before arrival get half of prepayments refunded; later cancellations are non-refundable.

Pets are not permitted and smoking is not allowed on site, though children are welcome. Parking is available on the property, and amenities include basic safety equipment like smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. The nearest airport is about 50 miles away, with a bus stop roughly 6.7 miles out.
