On the Stücklihof farm above the Sufnersee in Sufers, this tiny house reinvents the traditional Maiensäss mountain hut. Built by Swiss designer Jérôme Rütsche and architect Alain Brülisauer, the "mySaess" model runs on solar power, with gas used only for cooking and heating water. A composting toilet keeps things low-impact.

Inside, the space sleeps up to four with proper beds and a full kitchen for cooking your own meals. Underfloor heating and included bed linen take the edge off alpine nights, and a terrace with sun sails looks out over the lake and surrounding peaks. A farm shop on site sells fresh produce around the clock, and a breakfast basket is included.

The Rheinwald valley around Sufers offers hiking and cycling routes through dramatic mountain scenery, with the lake right at the doorstep for waterfront walks or a swim. The Zeitz family runs the Stücklihof, tending animals and farmland alongside hosting guests. Pets aren't allowed, and parking is free on site.

Rates start at 149 CHF a night for this tiny house, booked directly through Adventurly. Check-in is from 3pm and check-out by 10am; confirm exact arrival arrangements with the host when booking.
